I just moved into a new house with a GE microwave that had a 50W(!) bulb installed for the built in microwave/surface light. We leave this light on almost 24/7 as a night light and find it very useful when cooking etc. Plus we just love how it looks. But I would never leave that thing on at 50 watts all day, every day. This 2 watt replacement is pretty good. I am mostly satisfied with the purchase. The light is noticeably dimmer, but not by much. However, when you're using 25 times less energy, you can't really complain (why on earth would these manufacturers still consider it acceptable to ship products with such energy-efficient lightbulbs?!). I really like the color temperature of the bulb - slightly warm but not too warm, just enough to be nice and comfortable without being too harsh. ) is that "dimmer" or two-stage brightness adjustment are basically useless. I knew it would, but to echo other reviews, you can only use this bulb in "High" mode. The low reading is so low that you can't even tell the lightbulb is on unless you put your head under the microwave and look directly at it. a tapered design next to the pins to fit my microwave's socket. Overall, I'm glad I made this purchase. Of course, I can't say anything about durability yet.
