Nice gadget for your photo bag.

I bought one of these but it was stolen from my car so I bought another one. The first, however, was a little different: the RW-C1 model, which was a bit cheaper. The new purchase also went very well. The main differences I notice are that the transmitter doesn't have a small telescopic antenna, and the transmitter and receiver use 2 AAA batteries (4 total). The receiver is connected to the camera and attached to the camera's hot shoe. When using a hot shoe I just loop the cable over the lens and dangle the receiver. The transmitter has a two-stage button similar to a camera shutter button. Half way down to focus and full pressure to take a picture. This receiver on this device is slightly different. You press and hold the power button to turn it on, and then the LED will flash about every 2 seconds to remind you it's on. This should reduce the number of times the receiver stays on. I can take much sharper photos with this shutter because it takes a few seconds for a human-sized lens on a moderate mount to settle down after touching the camera. With this remote control, I can use "Live View" to decide when I want to take a picture and then take it immediately. because it takes a few seconds for a "human" sized lens on a moderate mount to settle down after touching the camera.
