Better a longer cord
I use this neck light for sewing and knitting. The lights are bright enough to see the stitching well, but the cord is too short for me for this purpose. The light would probably be ideal for a small woman or a flat chested man, but I can't put the light on my lap. I used it with just a flashlight and pulled the cord down as far as possible from that side. Not very comfortable or stable, but better than nothing. However, it should be fine to read a physical book.
