The shoes we bought last year didn't have a velcro buckle. Keane must have noticed when the reviews came back and updated her line for toddlers. They have a buckle that helps the Velcro stay in place! Great waterproof walking show for kids. Totally worth the price and stands up to everything my toddler does when walking.
