Science FTW best in Wedding Rings

Fun Fact: I work in a lab with an XRF spectrometer (which is used to analyze the exact chemical composition of all metals, or at least is that what we use it for) and for fun and laughs I decided to analyze my new ring to see if it really was 925 sterling silver. It's not that I don't believe that, it's just that people can say whatever they want on the internet, you know? Besides, when you have a cool lab tool that tells you exactly what metals are in your ring, how miss it? Well I was very pleased to discover that my ring is actually 92.73% silver according to the XRF spectrometer, so thanks to Silverly for that extra 0.23% silver. In case you're wondering what the rest is: 0.06% chromium, 0.79% iron, 0.11% nickel, 5.24% copper, 0.03% zinc and 0.83% indium. Now if you are one of THESE people you may have calculated that these percentages are only 99.79% and thank you ladies and gentlemen for the inquiring mind and whoever I am speaking to as in all in of science always there is an error. Also, I don't understand the XRF spectrometer well enough to know everything about how it works. This is a first for our laboratory. Either way, all you really need to know is that your ring is definitely at least .925 sterling silver. In addition, it is very nice and interesting to play with him. Only downside is my tiny baby finger needed a size 5 and the smallest they had was a size 6 but it can still be worn so that's all that matters.
