I too read the reviews before buying this product and I figured, it's fine that it's only 50 weeks instead of 52, and how bad could the smell be? It had to be people exaggerating, right?NO! When I opened the plastic there was a strong floral smell. This was in October, it is now February and there is STILL a strong floral smell. I let it sit out, hoping the odor would dissipate, and it did not. Now, the table it was sitting on has the same smell. My work tote has the same smell. My bluetooth keyboard was sitting in the same tote bag and has the same smell. It leeches into EVERYTHING, and if you're at all sensitive to scents it will give you a headache.
