Review on 🎮 CHONCHOW RGB LED Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Aluminum Base, 104 Keys, Anti-ghosting, Blue Switch, for Windows PC Gamers (Black) by Renz Alexandria

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent keyboard, 4 times cheaper than analog

First of all, based on some reviews I don't see any repetitive key issues and all Fn LED options worked as in the manual. The most negative rating relates to the instructions for controlling the LEDs with reference to FN+SN, my copy of the instructions seems to have been revised, so this is FN+SL (Scroll Lock). It's good? I see literally only two negatives: it's ugly (it's aimed at gamers, so the display shows nasty LED colors and disgusting fonts) and there's a special "Call Calculator Application" button that. Why? I mean, it's oddly specific and I guarantee you'll only accidentally hit it when trying to mute or using the minus key on the number pad. Luckily this can be easily removed. But other than those minor issues, it's great. The feeling is great. I can type on it quickly. Very little key wobble. The key feel is great. It has some weight, it doesn't slide on the table. And while I might not like the color combinations of the LEDs, the LEDs are obviously very well thought out, with features to only light certain keys etc. No need to install drivers and no stupid defaults. Did I also mention the feel of the keys? Oh my God! The keys themselves slide off fairly easily, although not with enough force to accidentally dislodge. Apparently you can buy replacements and they use a standard cross connector. I can't tell if this really feels like a Cherry MX Blue keyboard like the Das Keyboard, but it's certainly a huge improvement over any membrane or mechanical keyboard I've used before. It's a pleasure to use. But you know, I'd pay a dollar more for a white LED keyboard with regular Helvetica or Gil Sans or some other professional keycap font! sales opportunity. The main differences are that they've removed the palm rest, removed the four dedicated volume + calculator buttons, and tweaked the backlight controls a bit. Otherwise, it seems to me that this is the same keyboard.

Pros

Cons
  • Great price
