The reviewer who wrote that it was overpriced must have been somewhere in the 'old' days. I've been a photographer 99% of the last 20 years, but before that I shot a lot of videos. Back then you couldn't touch a moving head video tripod of this quality at this price. It would cost you 3-5 times more even in 1980s/90s dollars. This tripod is a monster. able to go very high and MUCH more powerful than the typical "frugal" tripod. The terminals and connectors are a mix of metal and plastic, but even the plastic is of fairly good quality. The gentle movement is very pleasant. maybe not the best, but very good. The quick connect plate is sturdier than what I'm used to from the photography world, but it has a rather odd placement of a locking knob that can be prevented from rotating by the camera body. A little fiddling is fine with my DSLR, but could be an issue with a larger camcorder. Something you could carry around in a backpack, but for its size and durability I find it impressively light. at this price there is nothing to complain about. Great tripod at a great price.
