When I first heard about e-books, I was skeptical and didn't want to part with my valuable book collection. (I have a tiny stash of books!) But then I finally gave up and decided to try one because I have a hard time reading big, heavy books in bed at night and being away from home for several periods of time . a time when I couldn't just carry around a dozen books. The first reader I came across was when my grandfather bought one of those giant Kindle DS readers with a beep and a full keyboard. I loved it, but the price was way out of reach. I decided to give the Nook a try (following my typical pre-purchase ritual of spending days looking for the best option) and I was so excited about it I couldn't say anything bad. I used this little beauty for a good few years until I had to sell it to pay my bills. From the moment the Nook left my hands I regretted it. I was sure I would never find another one that good again. And I don't think there have been such good readers since! Fast forward to Black Friday. FIRST Black Friday I actually HAVE some money to spend! And I'm looking for a really good e-book! I stumbled across the Nook on Revain and saw the new Nook Simple Touch, which intrigued me because I'd rather stick with an e-ink display than a full-size, battery-killer touchscreen. I finally realized that my love for the original Nook never died and it still had everything I could ever want in an e-reader. I was even able to buy it from a vendor here in Revane who lived less than half an hour from me and it only cost me $50! I was SOOO excited! Now if only I hadn't spent $5 on that stupid black faux leather case that completely DESTROYED my Nook's case. :(
