Over the years I've had Shure monitors in a variety of models from $99 to $450. Somehow I always manage to lose or break them (like 5-6 pairs in the last ten years) so I figured I should 'downgrade' to something I can afford to lose! These headphones sound just as good as the mid-range Shure! Very clear, open sound with round, not exaggerated bass - this is the first hearing. I hope, like most speakers, they sound better after so many hours of break-in. The only problem is that they keep jumping off the wire. Seriously - such a small but annoying detail keeps this from a five star rating. I don't use them for exercising, but I can't imagine them staying in them for more than a light walk. If you consider the Mee M6, they sound flatter, ear-satiating and far less roomy in comparison.
