Description of 🛠️ OTC 7024 Auto Trans Clutch Spring Compressor
This is a handy adjustable tool for removing or installing the snap ring on a transmission rear clutch piston. It applies pressure to the clutch drum’s retaining washer to compress piston return springs. For use on most American cars and light trucks.
Not quite all products used as intended, I found it very useful to use half round levers in combination with square tubes in the press to hold return springs. So much more control and scope.
Simple and efficient, as all good tools should be. Another high quality OTC product at a good price. If you have ever removed a reverse/reverse gear or similar final clutch in a transmission then you will find this tool very useful. I have a shop press and it's still a lot better as it gives room for my hand to loosen the locking ring - a shop press isn't that much!

Although frustrating to use, I was still able to get the job done. I'm not sure there's a good one-size-fits-all solution, but it's worth noting that you may need to get creative with using this tool if you're working with a particularly…

By simply sharpening the welds I got closer and it worked fine. The only other problem was that the nut and washer didn't go through the center splines. This meant I had to remove the nut and then fully tighten it again. But for all other clutches on big waves it fit and works perfectly. However, it…
