Review on ☕ Bodum Brazil Black French Press Coffee and Tea Maker, 34 oz by Jeremy Gaines

Don't buy this! Drops. Possibly dangerous!

First, I've had several different styles of Bodum presses over the years. Everything was fine until I encountered something hard on the glass while cleaning. This one was a bit problematic from the day it arrived until today when it crashed. First problem: for some reason, the coffee sometimes dripped from the outside of the spout onto the plastic base when pouring, where it then spilled all over the counter, and even worse when pouring a second cup. At first I thought the decanter was cracked somewhere under the plastic, but then it worked fine for a few days. All of this led me to want to remove the carafe to clean the bottom, which is possible with other Bodum presses. DO NOT TRY THIS! I assumed they would need to be assembled at the factory, so they will need to be taken apart to clean. When I tried to detach the carafe from the plastic tab holding it together, the carafe shattered and very sharp pieces of glass flew into it. As payment for my stupidity (and possibly not reading the instructions) I got a small cut on my shoulder. Let me reiterate that every other Bodum press I've had has been fine. This particular style is the only one I've had trouble with. If you already have it and it works, just never try to remove the carafe.

Pros
  • Dishwasher safe.
Cons
  • Seniors
