BODUM NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Have purchased 2 Bodum Brazil French Press in the past and loved both. Too bad my last one broke recently so naturally I wanted to replace it with the new Bodum Brazil French Press. Received the new French Press from Bodum Brazil yesterday and was disappointed that it was poorly packaged in a very small shipping box and wrapped in thin bubble wrap. This is NOT the old French press from Bodum Brazil. Glass is thinner. The components are NOT the quality they used to be. The strainer has been bent

Big size for one person!

As many other reviewers have said, this French Press is "3 cups” = 1 regular sized coffee cup (aka 11oz or 12oz). Since I add milk to my coffee, I usually take a cup and pour a little out of it, which is fine with me. The quality of this French Press is very good. I found the plastic parts very thick and strong and the glass carafe very pretty. A good instruction manual is included if you don't know how to make French Press coffee, and it even comes with a measuring spoon labeled for your…

Broke after 10 months

When I first used this French press I was satisfied. The glass is thick enough for normal use. The piston can be easily dismantled for cleaning. And of course good coffee (like in every French Press). But after 10 months of use, about twice a week, the piston broke. A small plastic retainer on the underside of the piston stem stripped its threads and no longer held the filter screen and spring plate in place, rendering the entire system useless. I looked at the guarantee on the Revain page for…

Don't buy this! Drops. Possibly dangerous!

First, I've had several different styles of Bodum presses over the years. Everything was fine until I encountered something hard on the glass while cleaning. This one was a bit problematic from the day it arrived until today when it crashed. First problem: for some reason, the coffee sometimes dripped from the outside of the spout onto the plastic base when pouring, where it then spilled all over the counter, and even worse when pouring a second cup. At first I thought the decanter was cracked…

Poor design, suitable for kitchen and dining room

I bought this to have a spare on hand for my old Bodum glass mug press in case it broke. I started using it after noticing a star shaped crack at the bottom of an old jar. There are a few things I don't like about this new design: 1. The thin, flat, hard plastic handle is not ergonomic and makes it difficult to guide the press. The old one has a wide, curved, rubberized handle of an ideal shape, fits perfectly in the hand and makes it easier to control the press filled with coffee.2. The top of
