I tried wifi cameras and couldn't get steady video. This device allows me to "hard" connect the camera from the back of the trailer to the monitor on the dashboard. Now I can clearly see what's behind the trailer as I walk down the street. The monitor displays clear, stable video. I have returned from a 4 week trip west and enjoyed the training view of trucks and cars approaching from behind. I didn't want to drill holes in the roof, so I attached a 2" PVC pipe to the spare tire mount and routed the wire through the pipe and then along the frame to the hitch at the front of the trailer. (I used 2" pipe in case I wanted to run more wire from the roof for solar panels or whatever). Everything worked fine.
