A quick look at some of the positives: 1) The system automatically formatted the 4TB drive I installed, which was not a new device and still contained the contents of the old PC. So don't worry about having to format your drive using a computer, new or not. 2) The installation process is very simple and step-by-step. The interface is a bit odd, but you'll quickly figure out which gestures do what. It is also very responsive and quick to use. Pretty much any setting you want to tweak will show up right away. 3) After going through the device setup, the wireless camera setup is almost automatic. 4) After everything is set up and working, you can hide the device somewhere and run it headless because the mobile app is really awesome. It's very fast and allows for just about any monitoring or tweaking that you'd probably want to do with the system on a day-to-day basis. 5) I first ran this system with a USB-C powered portable display, powered by the USB port on the ghr main unit. I ran into an issue where the system would reboot every few minutes. I eventually found that the device's power delivery couldn't work with a USB-C display along with an internal hard drive. So if you plan to use an external hard drive I wouldn't recommend the smaller USB powered drives as they will probably draw even more power than my small USB-C display requires. The only cons I would say are: 1) Although installing the system software is fairly easy, there are no installation instructions for the included cameras and their hardware. You'll probably find out if you're smart enough to even look at such a system, but it's something to be aware of. the other to connect to the network. The ethernet portion of the cable is quite bulky as I bet most people will be using this system wirelessly and there really isn't much you can do to mask the ethernet. Less important if you're using them in a wall. Overall I find this system very reliable for the price.
