Review on JBL Live 660NC: Long-Lasting Battery Wireless Over-Ear Headphones with Noise Cancelling & Voice Assistant in Black by Virot Teerachetmongk ᠌

A normal product, however, does not fully match the description.

The proximity sensor for automatic playing / pause appears to only react to a forcefully pushed ear; yet, if the ear is almost situated in the wrong place, the sensor begins to behave in an annoying manner. And yes, I would turn off this feature and forget about it securely; however, even when it is turned off, there is still a sound notification that squeaks at idle whenever the sensor loses or finds an ear. There is a sensor for calling an assistant located on the exterior of the left earpiece as well. The application is supposed to have this feature disabled, but it is still visible. Restarting the headphones is required before it will turn on again. As a consequence of this, if you adjust the headphones in any way, you will receive a barrage of notifications, either from the proximity sensor or from the assistant. I was able to solve the issue with the assistant by resetting the headphones to their factory settings (by holding down the volume + and - buttons for five seconds) and simply not turning on the assistant in the application any longer. In this particular instance, the sensor on the left earpiece does not respond to touch in any way. 3.4.0 is the most recent version of the firmware as of the time of this writing. By the way, the application didn't send me any notifications when there was an update to the firmware; I simply clicked on the version, and then all of a sudden I got an ate. A sensation similar to that of having a vacuum in one's ears (even in the absence of noise reduction and while using the transparency mode), which causes the head to begin to pain. Like vantus in the ears, it was impossible to utilize in general. Either the ear pads on these headphones are too thick, or this is a characteristic of all full-size headphones; I'm not sure which it is. Yet, this is a matter of preference; for example, I do not care for vacuum plugs. If you don't find it appealing, then it's likely that you won't find a need for these headphones either. The drawbacks outweigh all of the benefits, so I took another pair of headphones, the JBL Live 460NC, which are very similar to the first pair but have smaller ear pads. As a result, the vacuum effect is not produced by these headphones. They also have the same issues with the sensors, but because of the form factor, these issues are not as evident.

Pros
  • - Sound, with a strong emphasis on bass - Design - Construction quality and material - Absence of annoying voice notifications Autonomy - Type C "Bluetooth ON / OFF" and "Power ON / OFF" controls
Cons
  • The function that is supposed to automatically play or pause the music when the headphones are placed on or removed does not operate very well and does not turn off entirely when the headphones are removed. - A feeling similar to that of having a vacuum in the ears The settings for noise reduction are not preserved after a reboot. When noise reduction is activated, the gusts of wind can be picked up more clearly than they would be otherwise.
