, the I bought some of these for use in our office. 2 of them got so hot they started to melt! Both times they gave off a strong smell of burning which alerted us to a problem. I'm afraid one of them might actually start a fire if there wasn't anyone around to smell the melting plastic. After problems with two card readers, the rest were thrown out. I don't care how much money you can save by buying this product, it's just not worth the risk! The first product had an issue with no media installed, and the second had an SD card at the time. Fortunately, the media was not affected.
