Review on πŸ“· Ultra Stable Carbon Fiber Bowl Tripod with 75mm Bowl and Adapter, Heavy Duty 40mm Leg Tube Camera Tripod, Professional Camera Stand with 88 Pound/40kg Max Load by Tim Surridge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just as good or better than big brands for a fraction of the price.

This is a first impression rating. We'll see how the tripod performs over time, but first impressions of the quality are fantastic. This thing is amazingly well made and designed. The included bowl/dip and flat plate mounts are also excellent and even without them the tripod is phenomenal value. It's even better with them (the Equalizer Cup is usually sold alone for around $50-$75 from Revain companies, or much more from big brands). IMPORTANT NOTE: The weight listed is a little misleading, but in a good way. The weight is listed as 6.3 pounds, which is quite heavy. Because of the cheap price and the very good design, I was willing to put up with it. However, I was pleasantly surprised to only weigh 4.9 pounds on my feet. The 6.3 number appears to be due to the inclusion of accessories in the total, which I think is fair considering you'll likely use it as a kit in the field. However, you can get a pretty good "lightweight" setup (about as much as such a massive tripod can be) by combining the legs with a flat plate (lighter than a bowl) and a sturdy small to medium sized ball head . .For strength wise I could hang and swing on a tripod at full extension without moving and I weigh 160lbs which is about twice the advertised max weight which is impressive! In terms of fit and finish they are about as good as I can expect from one of the big brands and leave nothing to be desired. It looks great, with very clean lines and solid build. This tripod is an absolute steal at this price point of around $300. (I paid $285 with a manufacturer's coupon.) When you consider that an equivalent brand tripod costs about a thousand dollars, you realize what a bargain this is.
