Review on HME Products Ground Trail Camera by Will Porter

Nice stable stand. fits camera and photo

My game camera came with a thin metal mount but I needed my own stand to mount it. I used a 4 foot metal rack mount. He staggered, fell several times and the mount that came with the camera would not attach after adjusting. And he moved so far in the wind that the motion detector worked and didn't photograph anything. This is a good solid base in comparison and easy to push into the ground with the offensive bottom. The tip that goes into the ground has a blade on one side that prevents the base from swinging when driven in. The shaft and feed section are made of durable square metal. Once in the ground, this stand is pretty durable. The head that holds the camera rotates and tilts, but this is a friction adjustment and you'll need needle-nosed pliers or a small wrench to adjust it. Once you've set them correctly, you can simply push in the appropriate direction and the camera will stay at the angle you set. There are also some rubber washers around the screw that holds the camera to the mount. They are quite flimsy and I had to remove three of them to get enough of the screw to fit into the camera's threaded socket. I keep them in my tool box in case I ever need them to mount another type of camera. Good value for money.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • fits
