5x Barlow is probably the most useful for creating powerful digital images with a CCD camera; rarely does the visual observer MUST increase the magnification of the eyepieces by 5x. However, the Svbony products I used to buy were so good that I decided to buy one as a "test". I was surprised it worked and there was no real difference between using it to get a certain high output and choosing one of my regular equivalent focal length eyepieces. If you rarely do planetary observations and mainly use medium and low magnification eyepieces, give it a try! I have good eyesight and can often zoom a little over 50x per inch with my scopes; This is difficult to do with a very short and fast tool, so it can come in handy from time to time! - S.
