When buying a case for my new 2020 (2nd gen) iPad Pro 11 inch, I wanted to meet 5 criteria .1. It had to house a tempered glass screen protector. 2. It had to fully cover the sides of the iPad - full side protection. 3. It should have a folio cover to protect the display when not in use. put the device to sleep when it's closed. 5. Had to be folded down if desired. The Otterbox Defender option just wasn't sexy enough for me and based on previous purchases I knew it was clunky. Great protection for any device but not what I wanted for my new iPad. A Supcase Unicorn Beetle variant was in the works for me, but it lacked the display cover I wanted. Apple cases are really overpriced in my opinion, which is why they were out. I watched Zugu Alpha and he ticked all the boxes. However, it wasn't shipped until the end of May and was much more expensive. It met all my criteria, but I didn't want to use my new iPad without a case, so the search continued. Two days later I stumbled across the ESR Sentry Case and it was perfect for my needs. This is a great alternative to Zugu and looks VERY close to it in design. Shipping was faster than expected even during the pandemic so thanks Revain. The build quality of the case is fantastic. The shell is made of TPU and fits the iPad like a glove. It's solid too - not a cheap feel at all like some of the alternatives. The outside of the folio is leather-like and matches the "premium" look I wanted. The stand is magnetic and holds securely in any of the 7 positions. I've used it in bed, on my lap chair, and on my desk. Perfect. The buttons are well protected and the speaker cutouts are laser cut. The back cover is magnetic and I even attached it to my fridge as shown in the Zugu ad. Great for entertaining while preparing dinner and doesn't take up valuable countertop space (I need a lot of cluttered kitchen space). The case has a stretch polyester Apple pen pocket. I don't have an Apple Pencil but I use it as a stylus and it's perfect. I wonder if he'll remember after a while and if he doesn't hold the pen/pen that tight. The time will show. The lid fits the display perfectly every time, with no sloppy overlap. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who wants great iPad protection without the bulky Otterbox look.
