A big improvement over the plastic dustpan but without the telescopic handle

This is the first metal dustpan I've ever used. It's great that you don't have to worry about it tearing when you use its corner to clean the tray. It's a lot bigger than the plastic scoops I used, so that's good. It's also deeper, so lumps are less likely to fall out. The teflon coating doesn't seem to have much effect - it's still sticky, I have yet to scrape the scoop off. I use my old plastic dustpan to fill this dustpan. They work well together. Definitely heavier than plastic. The cylindrical handle means I have to hold it tighter when turning it, which puts strain on my wrist. My plastic shovel has a flat handle so it doesn't rotate as easily as this round-handled metal shovel. And this scoop doesn't have a telescoping handle PURRR-FECT SCOOP 34" Tall Standing Litter Scoop, Silver, This long-handled scoop never tips - the perfect scoop for cats and dogs! . A friend gave me a telescoping cat litter scoop that I use can stand instead of bending from the stray dust, but the handle doesn't snap well and the shovel part is smaller than this petscatch shovel, so I still prefer this shovel.
