My husband says this hat makes me look like a busy beaver. It has multiple backlight settings, one of which is flashing blue and red. I'm not sure I would use it on the street without being interrogated or arrested, but I think it would be useful if I was in a bind and needed help. The most practical settings are with constant white light. I wore it outside while fiddling with my bike at night. The light coming from my forehead took a little getting used to, but it worked very well. Difficult to find a charging port. I had to use the included instructions to find it, but it seems to charge fast enough and holds a charge very well. I'll probably wear it on snowshoes this winter. Great hat, beautiful and practical.
