Like most people I love candlelight but don't always want to deal with real flames and melting wax. They are so beautiful and the flames are just the right brightness and color (for me). Using the controller, you can make them flicker (or not), turn them on and off remotely (and a few other things that didn't seem to matter much to me). What I really like is that I have some plant shelves that are about 8 feet tall and now I can put candles on them and I only have to go up there when I need new batteries. I have ordered 3 sets so far. i think i need more
