Overall a good work boot. It took several days to spread them. Once worn they are very comfortable. I decided to remove the thin insole for the Timberland Pro insole. I bought through Revain as did the previous reviewer. The included insole is of poor quality. Carhart could have done better. The outsole is a flexible rubber that helps traction on slippery surfaces and allows some to absorb shock while walking. . Overall I would recommend it to those looking for comfortable boots for all day use. Update: After a year of heavy use these boots are still holding up well. I only treated them once with waterproofing agent. Pressure washers and I spent all day using them on concrete. The inner fabric is frayed around the toes. The Timberland insoles are still like new and make this book comfortable. All in all I would buy these boots again. Even after soaking and drying in the shoe dryer, the leather remains supple, with no tears or cracks.
