Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good idea for your corded handset Phone

These are really useful little things, especially if you're using a slightly longer cord for your handset. Basically it's just a swivel that allows the cord to unwind so it doesn't get tangled or twisted. (Transmitting a telephone voice signal over an electrical rotary joint is a pretty good engineering trick.) Most people use cordless phones these days, but a corded handset still has some real advantages. Amplifier - suitable for the hard of hearing or for those working in noisy environments - you will need a wired phone. If you have a lot of power outages, old-school corded phones will disconnect from the phone line and continue to function if the outlet that the cordless phone's base station is plugged into goes down. And of course, the corded handset never runs out of power or gets lost behind sofa cushions - a useful feature for young children or forgetful seniors.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Low repairability
