Good strong connection, don't worry about them breaking in use. They're really good for the front of the belt where most of the material is because they're big enough that you don't have to struggle to get them together. At the same time, they are quite loose at the back where there is not much material. This is just my experience. I have used Truspec and Blackhawk nylon work belts! But I have no experience with leather straps like Safariland so I don't know how well these strap holders work with it.
