I can usually tolerate residual chemical smells - but the smell of these foam sheets is very strong. I let them sit for about 2 weeks to air and disperse, but I still get sick of the smell every time I get near them. Finally I gave up; it's just more effort than it's worth. The sheets are optically ok. The thickness is good - do not hang around. Although the interface is not perfect. They don't have major dents or ridges, but most bed sheets have scratches or stains, much like a piece of velvet looks like if not rubbed properly. However, this may not be a problem for many people, so your mileage may vary.
