Review on Xiaomi Watch S1 Active Wi-Fi NFC Global Smartwatch, Space Black by Mateusz Roczon ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product did not cause delight, but you can use it.

They are marketed as a sports watch, but in reality, they are more similar to a fitness bracelet, to which they screwed GPS. They did not come close to competing with traditional watches; for more information, see below (by normal watches for sports, I mean harmines, fires, etc., but the price tag is different there ). In contrast to traditional timepieces, this one only has a single button and a touch screen on which to interact. Because of this, you are required to wait three seconds after hitting the button on the exercise machine before actually beginning the program. Good for frequent training, but not for genuine starts when accurate time management is required. When you come to a complete stop (at a traffic light, for example), he instantly offers to halt the training and demands that you perform some kind of action in order to keep going with it, which is another drawback. After five minutes of typical strolling, he will suddenly become aware that you are moving and make an offer to begin training while simultaneously gathering information on the distance already traversed from some location in the ceiling (which is not true). If you are seated, you can use it as a temporary replacement for a regular sports watch, although it is not nearly as accurate as the watch you would normally wear. Although though autonomy isn't the worst thing in the world, you certainly can't call it good: 2 days without performing sports for 14 hours a day (shut off for the rest of the time) ate 23% of the charge, which means that the manufacturer's claims of 12 days of standard activity and 24 days of economy mode do not hold water here.

Pros
  • Price (relative to "analogues") (compared to "analogues"). Decent GPS. A fair amount of independence overall.
Cons
  • Price (relative to genuine equivalents, see comments) (compared to real analogues, see comments). Inconvenient setup (some are configured in the watch itself, some through the application, some are both there and there). absence of conventional watch dials (only "fashionable, youthful"). Management that is difficult to work with in terms of sports. A great number of "smart" functions make life more difficult.
