This is a great little camera with lots of fun features. I had a hard time deciding between the s8100 and s6100 because the s8100 shoots faster, shoots 1080 video, has a better sensor and more zoom. The features listed below are the reasons I chose the s6100. Touchscreen - You can use your finger, but it can be a little tricky to move it properly. It comes with a stylus that allows you to quickly navigate through the screens. Makes it very easy to get through the menu. The menu on the left includes flash, self-timer, macro, and exposure compensation options. The menu below contains options for touch shutter, picture mode, video options, and settings. The battery level is always displayed in the left corner, so you can't guess how much power is left. Scene mode is shown above. scene selection. You can choose from 19 scenes as well as automatic scene selection. When you press the scene button and all 20 options are listed, a box with a question mark will appear in the top right corner explaining the different modes to help you choose the right one. Filter effects - it can draw or write. Add embellishments, crosshairs, fisheye, selective color, black and white and sepia on photo. I've been playing around with some of these features, I'll try and upload some photos. It also offers glam retouching and skin softening. Play button - has options to mark photos as favorites, delete, slideshow, protect, print, paint, retouch, record language and settings. Charger - This camera can be charged through your computer or has an adapter very similar to most cell phones, allowing you to use a USB cable to charge from a wall outlet. There is an indicator light on the back that flashes to let you know the battery is charging. A dedicated video button makes it very easy to record videos. Unlike the 8100, you can't take photos while recording with the 6100. According to an amateur photographer, this pocket camera has many features.
