I tore a tendon on the outside of my left ankle a few years ago. It wasn't a sprain per se as I literally heard a very loud CRACK as it ruptured and in a second my foot was swollen and looking like a soccer ball. I still feel that old injury when the weather turns or I spend too much time on my legs (or twist my left ankle "weirdly"). The problem is that I work on my feet part-time, only 3.5 hours a day, but at the end of the day my feet hurt and this old injury bothers me more and less. So, for the last two weeks, this tendon rupture has been bothering me so much that it feels like someone has pricked me in the outer, upper part of my left foot whenever I move or turn the wrong way. I got this from wrapping my foot in kinesiology tape which helped a bit but I needed something easier to work with. A sleeve with crossed elastics was worn over the sock on the left leg, and the elastics were pulled together and crossed over the top of the foot. I went to work in socks and with a sleeve on my legs. I can't say I didn't feel that tendon and a bit of pain, but the cuff helped provide the support I needed to keep the tendon from moving too far during work. Definitely a good thing for me!
