Not KBAR, but the dam is close.

I think (my opinion) this knife is close to the army KBAR. Similar in size and quality. For this money you will not be dissatisfied. It was hard out of the box. It felt well made (at least the one I got). I gave it to my son for his birthday. He thought I spent a lot more than I spent on him and was happy too. We've done all the usual craftsmanship tests (no cement block cutting or other nonsense) and it's served us well. It's not as heavy as the Shrade SCHF9. I find it well balanced and a good weight for a general purpose survival knife. This would be my choice if I didn't have the KBAR 1211. For this knife size and weight, this is a steal. You won't be disappointed I think. Bottom line: if you want a survival knife of this size and can't afford a KBAR, then go for it. If money is no object, buy KBAR, but be careful, the difference in price doesn't match the value. KBAR isn't much better (in my opinion) to justify the cost difference. This knife is clearly underrated for its value.
