I bought this voice recorder to record lectures at school. So far it has worked fine. The sound quality is excellent, I use mono mode for speech. The sound is even better in HQ stereo mode, but that's not necessary for my purposes. I use batteries, charge them every two weeks. WMA files can be easily edited in any modern audio editor. I used the recorder as a microphone input for Skype, the sound quality is also very good. The software that came with the recorder allows you to switch between the storage device and the audio device, and this determines how your computer uses the USB recorder. Recording. So I just record a small clip, set the hold threshold (I usually have something like 10), stop recording, delete the clip and then record it. Another complaint is about file naming and numbering - the recorder restarts numbering as soon as you delete a file from it. So if you later transfer files to your computer, you must be careful not to overwrite old files with the same names.
