Uh, just okay. (Edited)

11/18/19 Update: downgraded to 1 star. The image quality of the camera is already deteriorating. I installed a camera over the driveway. It faces south and is therefore exposed to more direct sunlight. Also, since I left my "not so good" review, there are suddenly a lot of "5 star" reviews. Do yourself a favor and pay attention to the wording and grammar in these reviews. All are suspiciously similar. I will only say. Original Review: To be honest, the quality of these cameras is only so-so. I've bought several other outdoor WiFi cameras over the years and these are probably the most marginal of them all. There are a few things I would like to point out if you are considering buying one. The body is made entirely of lightweight plastic, including the cover over the lens. Other cameras I've bought for the same price have had metal bodies and will definitely last longer than these cameras. One end of the power cord runs directly underneath the camera, while the other end is a regular USB connection that plugs into the included transformer. The problem with this is that you have to drill a hole at least 3/4 inch wide in the wall to put the USB through the hole. All the other cameras I've bought have a DC power connector, which allows you to just drill a nominal sized hole to put the cable through. Because the cable plugs in under the camera and not behind it, the cable will always be there open to anyone - someone who can just cut it with scissors if it's attached to an outside wall. This is a clear bug and should be fixed in future generations of these cameras! Even if you mount the camera out of someone's reach, the design is still terrible because you still have a 3/4-inch opening. to fight with. You either have to fill the hole with sealant or mount the camera base over the hole, which means the cable runs under the base and prevents it from sitting flush with the outside wall. All of the other outdoor cameras I've bought have a cable that runs from the back of the camera through a base post that's attached to the wall. This allows you to attach the base directly over the opening without exposing the cable to someone with malicious intent. As for image quality, this is the only plus of these cameras. The picture quality is pretty good. Again, the only question is how long will these cameras last in inclement weather! In direct sunlight and rain, I give them a maximum of 18 months. If installed under a canopy or other covering, they may last a little longer.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • I don't remember

Tread carefully, these outdoor cameras from this company seem to fail with regularity.
