Review on Xtreme Comforts Lumbar Support Pillow - Ultimate Memory Foam Cushion with Adjustable Strap & Ventilated Mesh for Lower Back Discomfort: Set of 1 by Duane Mejia

LOVE this back brace! Perfect for me :)

Bought two car seat cushions (very helpful). I drive a 2017 Prius and the driver's seat (combined with other factors I'm sure) has caused my back to cramp incredibly badly. I've done many things to help heal this (more below) and one of them was buying supportive pillows. The first pillow I bought (and still use) is a wedge shaped pillow to sit on. My seat has an odd incline so the front of the seat is higher than the back which irritates my back. I wanted it to be more consistent so Clever Yellow's wedge pad works quite well and is available from Revain. The second is this pillow to support my lumbar region. I like it because it has a convex (rather than concave) shape. Most lumbar support pillows seem to be concave and this bothers my back. This pillow was one of the only convex pillows I could find and I absolutely love it! When I first sat on it, I felt relief in my spine/back and felt like I was entering a transcendental state. It really was that helpful to me. I also like it because it's bigger than most, has the right firmness for me, is very thick, has a removable cover, and really supports the length of my back (higher pillow than most). I have tried this cushion on a variety of sofas and chairs in addition to my car seat and it has worked well on most of them. Only one was too fat for me. Classic office chair on wheels. At first it felt like I fell off my chair a bit because of this, although I corrected it and everything was fine. I don't need a pillow on this chair anyway as it provides adequate lumbar support. It *is* a big pillow. This should therefore be taken into account when purchasing. It pushes me forward a bit in my car seat, which I really like (I just recline my seat), but that can be an issue for some people. Because he's fat, he's also hard for me. I can lean back and still feel a lot of support. The pillow does not flatten out like some do. I also tried another NurtureSoft lumbar pillow, but it was more concave than I thought from the photos and wasn't as thick or firm. It didn't work for me, but it has great reviews, so it might work better for you! I think it was about the same size as this one, but it wasn't taller (vertically) but wider (horizontally). I wanted and needed more support along the full length of my spine. Someone else may want/need more lateral support. This can help in deciding which one to choose. Plus your height/height! So it may take a bit of trial and error to find the right one. Luckily the Xtreme Comforts pillow was my first choice and has become my favorite! :) Some of the other things that have helped my back might help you too. * Peter Levin's book Freedom from Pain. I can't write much about it yet as I just got it today, but I'm looking forward to reading it. I do the Trauma/Stress Relief Exercises (TRE) several times a day and they have really helped me a lot (along with gradually increasing my walking distance) so I'm optimistic about the other exercises in the book! * I am also planning to purchase orthotics and new shoes and have a spinal network analysis with a chiropractor (very gentle approach. Traditional chiropractor tends to provoke my body and worsen fixation). I hope the chiropractor can recommend orthotics/shoes and clothing for posture correction. A month ago I could not move because of back pain. It's gotten a lot better and I think it will stay that way! I am grateful for these supportive products that help me perform better! If you are reading this and you are in pain, you are in my heart and in my prayers. I hope you feel better soon! :)
