Review on PANASONIC Amplified Cordless Phone With Digital Answering Machine - KX-TGM450S - 1 Handset (Silver) by Josh Whitehead

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Clear sound, comfortable use for people without hearing loss, expensive but worth it.

A little background on our situation. My husband was born with a 90% irreversible hearing loss in his right ear. All his life he felt good just listening to his left ear. However, a few months ago he suddenly lost hearing in his left ear. He was treated immediately but has still not regained his hearing. In fact, it made him completely deaf. He's since received Cros hearing aids, which provide comfortable hearing in most everyday face-to-face situations, and these phones make a world of difference so you can talk on the phone comfortably the rest of the time. Volume settings that are very easy to set intuitively (without reading the manual). There were several days when he was without hearing aids. This meant that he only heard about 10% in one ear. Humans could communicate with it when their mouth was just a few inches from this ear. We turned up the ringer and voice volume on those phones and he could actually speak. It wasn't the most comfortable as he had to hold the phone very firmly and close to his ear, but it still allowed him to communicate with his key clients. Once he got the hearing aids, all he did was turn the volume down. . It is very convenient to use in many situations. The most convenient are the volume buttons on the side of each handset. He works mostly from our home office and he and his partner work here several times a week. His partner and I don't have hearing impairments, but we can conveniently use these phones simply by turning down the volume with these volume buttons. The sound quality is clear and no different than our other cordless phones. Both the base and handsets will flash when there is an incoming call, allowing you to reduce or mute the ringer if needed. The ringer volume on each handset is independently adjustable, allowing you to set one handset to ring louder than the others. The ringer volume increases when you are in the garden and the handset is far away. We also turned down the phone volume in the bedroom as we can easily hear other phones ringing. We bought this base unit and 4 additional phones. Phones are very easy to register and connect, and the range is pretty remarkable. We have a house of 2000 sqm on 3 floors. The base station is on the top floor and the handset in the garage does not cause any connection problems. A bit pricey for the entire 5 handset system we need, but it's a find you can't price on as it lets you 'get things done as usual'. "For my husband and our family.
