I use this item several times a week but never think about replacing it. My last pair lasted about 3 years before needing replacement (they were still sharp when I last sued them but I must have dropped them because I found them in the tub with a bent tip , so they didn't close anymore ) - that was very strange). Getting the new ones was great though - I didn't realize how boring the old ones were getting until I started using these. This one cut my skin. (User error of course - it hasn't happened since). I am very happy with this purchase, the day I had to wait for her arrival drove me crazy. I do rock climbing and it makes my cuticles and skin uncomfortable so I have to clean them a few times a week so they don't get stuck and bleed on everything, they definitely get the job done quickly and without tearing.
