Happy Cats Best in Beds & Furniture

I chose this cat tree because it has several different types of seats without being huge. The scratching post is about 3 feet tall. It's not big, but an adult cat can easily perch on any part of a tree. I read a few reviews that said the tree could tip over and after compiling the instructions I can see how that can happen. When my cat (about 10 pounds) tried to sit in the basket, she definitely felt unsafe. The basket is slightly offset to the side, so when the cat is in it, it will push too hard on the side without adequate support. This part of the scratching post is supported by a kind of narrow pole. I made it sturdier by placing a pole in a flat, wide-bottomed pet food bowl to create more floor space. Now she sits safely in the basket.
