Review on πŸ”ͺ 58mm MiniChamp Pocket Knife with Victorinox Swiss Army Multi-Tool by Karoly Reddick

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well done but too cumbersome.

I have a classic SD. With the same length, I thought it would be nice to have extra tools just in case. I wore the Minichamp II (just like the Classic) on my keys for exactly ONE day. Classic returned immediately and will stay there. I don't like Minichamp. They have the well-known Victorinox quality, but are too bulky for my keys. If I feel like I need to carry it alone in my bag, I might as well carry the Cadet or something with full sized tools. The extra crap you get compared to the Classic doesn't even come close to justifying the extra girth. The classic harmonises with your keys. It just doesn't work. Also, you actually lose the toothpick. Instead, you get this useless dumb pen. In the middle of the scales, it was possible to swap out the tweezers for a toothpick (unlike full-size Victorinox knives, it doesn't matter which side you go). Then you got out of the tweezers. Would you like to try picking your teeth with your tongue or try to pull out a chip with your teeth? My shirt has pockets and I have a pen to carry when I need a pen. "cuticle pusher"? Can't do it with a classic SD file driver? The only useful additional tool is an orange peeler, and with less practice than it takes to master this tiny bottle opener, you can peel it with a regular blade. Adding a slightly smaller blade to the smaller base blade is overkill. At half the price of this Minichamp I will not try to replace my Classic again. Unless it's just another good old classic when I break the one I have. weight and nearly a quarter of an inch wider. It may not seem like a lot, but for a keychain, it's a lot. They are both 2.3 inches long. Same size. But Minichamp has a feeling you're carrying a C-cell battery on your smelly keys. By the way, Minichamp weighs the same as Alox Cadet. Even if it were cheaper I would say. My former self is not spending money on Minichamp II. YMMV and you might like it though. But ask yourself if what you're getting more is worth the extra size that comes with it. It might not bother you, but it annoys me to death. I hate carrying anything big in my bag, including a bunch of keys. Disappointment. I would return it but even wearing it for a day scratched the scales a little to the point where I wouldn't feel right so it's going along with other knives I've tried but didn't like, lying in my drawer.
