Unfazed Swiss Army Fan

Conclusion: I have a 30 year old, well used classic Swiss Army knife, the better "clicks" than this relatively expensive little knife. No, I'm not saying they don't make them like they used to. Lately I've bought all sizes of Victorinox Swiss Army Knives, mostly as gifts. Many of these were the more expensive Alox, which are more durable and are known for their better build quality and great rear spring detent. Too bad it's mediocre. I've also bought much cheaper Swiss Army Cellidor Mini Champs

Pros
  • PRODUCT DETAILS: Swiss Army Knife with 18 functions. Height: 0.6 in. Length: 2.3 in. Weight: 1.6 oz. mm: 58 mm Scale Material: ABS/Cellidor
Cons
  • lots of stuff

The hook's sharp blade is great for opening hard plastic packaging.

The MiniChamp has many attachments and is shorter than my car key. The hook's sharp blade is great for opening hard plastic packaging. It's very sharp so a word of caution; I hold objects securely and keep my hand (not holding the knife) out of the way. Screwdrivers work surprisingly well for such a small knife, and a nail file, tweezers, scissors is something I often use in place of such items at home. Their accuracy is difficult to compare. Of course, both blades are small, but sharp enoughโ€ฆ

Pros
  • PROVEN QUALITY: Made in Switzerland; Victorinox grants a lifetime guarantee against material and processing defects. Making a lifetime commitment has never been easier. No assembly required, money back guarantee.
Cons
  • Socket wrench required

The best mini Victorinox in your pocket

I am a Victorinox and Leatherman fan and have had many models over the last 40+ years. I've carried a red Victorinox Rambler with me at all times for about 10 years, especially when I don't want to (or don't wear a belt) a heavier multi-tool around my belt. Well, Rambler is sitting on the dresser as a backup now since I got this MiniChamp. It's almost the same size as the Rambler (maybe 1-2mm thicker, but gets very little attention) and comes with twice as many tools. The metal case is thinnerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • ROBUST DESIGN: The Swiss-made stainless steel construction of our popular scale has a slimmer profile and is extremely durable.
Cons
  • Appearance

Excellence as always, best for outdoor recreation

Bought for my husband's birthday to replace the one I bought him 20 years ago. It was hard to find one that had the characteristics of what I bought back, he liked them, but this one had pretty much everything. I had to ruin the surprise because I know he loves his Swiss Army Knife too much to risk putting the wrong tool on him. He is so happy with the new one. And I was lucky to get the old one (worn and with dog tracks but it still works). Look how smart I am. I wanted a swiss army knife butโ€ฆ

Pros
  • BEST ABOVE: Compact, agile and ready for any adventure. Our range of Swiss Army knives has been around since 1897 and remains a symbol of utility and thoughtful design.

Great for everyday use: camping

I love this knife. It's small? Yes. Can it do everything a big knife can? no But that's not what it's designed for. In its size and weight class, it really is unmatched in what it can do, and it can get an amazing amount of work done. I can do this EDC every day without much loss in size or weight, which is good. I feel all the tools are useful despite what some of the other reviewers say or think. I use a cuticle pusher for its intended purpose, but it also works as a flat head screwdriver for

Well done but too cumbersome.

I have a classic SD. With the same length, I thought it would be nice to have extra tools just in case. I wore the Minichamp II (just like the Classic) on my keys for exactly ONE day. Classic returned immediately and will stay there. I don't like Minichamp. They have the well-known Victorinox quality, but are too bulky for my keys. If I feel like I need to carry it alone in my bag, I might as well carry the Cadet or something with full sized tools. The extra crap you get compared to the Classic

Pros
  • stainless steel
Cons
  • empty
