Good, but needs some adjustment

Design is ok but needs improvement. I use this for a 10 lb cat and the neck hole has been a constant problem. I ended up just sewing the mesh over the hole. It's great for a small cat as they can sit on the floor and look away (or stand up to look through a hole). The bottom insert is too flexible. This prevents the animal from staying in one place and creates extra tension in the neck. I ended up reinforcing the existing pillow by putting a piece of plastic over it and then wrapping a foam mesh around it and gluing the edges to the underside for an impromptu soft pillow. The hole is quite high so small animals will have trouble as they constantly have to get up to look. For small animals I would recommend the shoulder strap version of this product (from the same factory) instead, as you can put it on your back and take the strain off your neck. The thread stretched around the hole is thin and acts like a garrote. It also comes loose easily when pressure is applied to it as all that holds it in place is a small plastic collet nut. Eventually I took the rope off and threaded a 1" nylon strap (backpack shoulder strap) through it and used the tension adjustment loop to keep it in sync. As a result, the hem is more comfortable, does not cut into the neck and does not open by itself. The zip tabs are pretty bad. I just cut them off and put a few tabs in from another bag. Here's a shoulder strap version that works much better for me: the Yoption pet bag with breathable mesh on one shoulder for outdoor activities, the travel bag for puppies and dogs. Big cat (L)
