I've been sleeping on a travel style Bucky pillow since the mid 1990's. I use it as a wedge to support my neck or I leave my ear on my side in the middle of the "hole" so nothing touches my ear and I can't hear my heartbeat (I'm one of those). people who hear their pulse in their ear when I lie on my side and press my head/ear against a pillow). Over time, buckwheat crumbles. In fact, every night the pillow gets softer and softer. It takes time. It will fit your head. That said, I have to say - I don't think this is the perfect pillow for air travel. It's a little bulky and heavier than most. It's not that it can't work, just maybe not the most ideal.
