I am a college student looking to replace my ailing Surface Pro 3 charger that was going through tough times. I didn't want to pay full price for genuine Microsoft chargers since I'm looking to buy a new laptop soon, so I decided to save a few bucks and buy a cheaper charger. Well, the charger didn't even last a full week. It worked very well for the first few days and I was happy to have a brand new and fully functional charger. After about 5 days I noticed that the charger wasn't charging in the default orientation, but I flipped it and it seemed to work fine. The charger didn't work at all today and after being pushed into the charging port and flipped a few times the charger produced some electrical sparks. Luckily my surface was fine and of course I immediately threw the charger away. I regret my purchase. When you need a replacement charger, simply pay upfront for a Microsoft branded charger that not only works properly, but is safe for you, and most importantly, yourself.
