I needed a monitor for work and play. I could spend $3 or $400 for a gaming monitor with 1ms latency, 8-bit color depth, and 144Hz refresh rate, but I'm not a serious gamer and just consider myself above average (read: I don't have a lot of money). So I needed something that could display my PS4 games decently without breaking the bank. This monitor does a very good job! I've been using it for about a year and have only one real complaint; deep black indicates colored bands. But we can't do anything about it because it's a limitation of the monitor's hardware, so that's to be expected. I only notice that when I watch series or films. It's not there when you're playing video games or doing normal work tasks. I noticed that playing with overdrive enabled caused a lot of colors to "smudge" so I turned it off. Minimal image artifacts, blurring and the like in normal operation. Side note: I have some crappy tools, but this monitor comes with a tiny screwdriver, and not having to dig around for one is a real blessing. Overall I gave 4 stars because the menus could be better organized and the buttons on the back of the screen have a better feel. awkward? I don't know how to put it, but the buttons suck. Now that I have separate places to play and work, and I liked the monitor so much, I just bought a newer version of the E248W-19203R for about $100. I will be using the newer version for my PS4 and the annual version for my office. However, the bezel on the new version is matte black and I want it to look like the stainless steel on the old version (the version this review is for).
