I bought these for my 2 kids mainly because of 2 features: Large dedicated headphone case because my kids love DJ style headphones and tend to damage them. The design is well thought out and includes a laptop compartment which also works well as so many kids now have to use laptops at school. I've never had a problem with straps breaking, but I did warn the kids not to use the top handle when they're cramming. 20-30 pounds. Books and other things in these things. Samsonite could improve on this design by heavily reinforcing the hand straps as well as the top carry handle and the ultimate feature they could add would be two charging ports with a built in portable battery. There's room for that in the front and I can add it myself and see how it goes. Having to open the backpack and look for a charging cable isn't as convenient as plugging into the one that comes with it. The same goes for charging the battery when you get home. - My 2 cents. Too bad nobody lets you design a backpack like in Build a Bear, so you can choose and add features as you see fit. Another point suggested by some is to have your backpacks custom monogrammed with names or initials. (LL Bean I guess?)
