Sounds good! Poor fit out of the box.

I bought the Kinter K2020A+ amp to live in a kitchen cabinet above the microwave and drive a pair of Yamaha speakers above the fridge and sink. It's probably not the best place for quality sound, but I came across this receiver because I was looking for a cheap one to replace a burned out second hand stereo. - a grounded outlet and I've seen other users complain about the hum. This isn't necessarily because their outlets aren't grounded, but because the included power cord is a two-pronged, ungrounded power cord, even though the power supply includes a grounding prong. The good news is that the right cable is very common. Used by almost every desktop computer. So I immediately threw the included power cord in the trash and dug up one of the dozen or so extra power cords I had stashed around the house. The spring clip felt a little flimsy but held together and barely matched my 16 gauge speaker wire. I then plugged it into the audio port on my Apple AirPort Express (the K2020A+ supports stereo aux or RCA cables - I used RCA because that was what the old receiver used) and booted it up. And it sounded a bit flat because I wasn't turning the knobs and the bass and treble were set almost to the minimum. I turned up the volume and turned the other two knobs about halfway, and... wow! The Tripath TA2020-020 chip really lives up to expectations. The music seemed alive in a way I didn't think was possible in the harsh acoustic environment of my kitchen. The small size is also convincing. It's about the size of four decks of playing cards, which is good because my kitchen lacks storage space and the old stereo took up more than half the closet it's in, although this is offset somewhat by the fact that the brick in power's supply is almost as big. The power indicator on this device is a blue LED ring around the volume control. It's not bright enough to lead me to the bathroom, although I didn't test it late at night when my eyes were fully accustomed to the dark. All in all a great little amp with a great powerful sound. I would recommend if you don't plan on having it in front of your bed.

Pros
  • The compact size makes this amp ideal for DIY projects and audio applications
Cons
  • Vulgarity
