Didn't make my life much easier.

Fine. It's almost as much work as picking it up, when you get the pot out, try to get all the trash through the cracks, try to throw it away without spilling the rest on the floor when it falls through the cracks, you're done scooping Pots can get dirty, you have to wash them. It's a little fiddly, but works well.
