Easy to maintain, meets my expectations. Some tips.

I have two large (and rather noisy) whole house wick humidifiers, one on each floor. But our large family room at the other end of the house wasn't getting enough moisture. So I was looking for something quiet and easy to clean for a room. It helps. With a new wick, a filled reservoir will last approximately 24 hours at low temperature. He increased the humidity of the 30 x 30 cm room by about 10-15%. Low is quiet enough for a TV room. As with all wick humidifiers, the main enemy is mineralization. Gradually the wick loses absorption as it absorbs minerals from the water. Taking some time to remove the fan section and flip the wick will certainly help keep the wick moist and reduce the rate of mineralization which accelerates as the wick dries out. However, if you prefer to change the wick less often, you can use distilled water if the local water is very hard. (I personally prefer to keep turning the wick and swapping it out once or twice during the winter season rather than lugging water bottles from the store.) My only other tip that I haven't seen here is to consider the surface, on which you sit it at. . While it won't leak on its own, I believe there may be some light splattering when the tank is installed or moved after filling. I had the unit on a varnished wooden cabinet and after a few weeks pushed it aside to find traces of dried water stains. (I was able to remove it with a furniture cleaner, but it might not work as well on stained wood.) So I just put a cheap clear cutting board underneath to protect the wood.
