installed as reversing light in the 2007 Saab 9-5. The Saab only has a reverse light and we didn't think a regular 26-watt standard bulb would do. This is a huge improvement. It was a little longer than the standard bulb, but it fit well. The light is clean and bright, illuminating a large area behind the car with a single (passenger side) bulb. Obviously draws 7 watts, so we don't expect any problems with the wiring or melting of the rear taillight housing. Codes aren't thrown away, but I wouldn't have expected that from a lightbulb anyway. I would buy again if only it would last long. Big upgrade in security and visibility.
