What I love about this monitor is that it's ready to use and offers privacy. Just plug and play, no need to set up WiFi connection and mess around. The camera and monitor are directly connected and synchronized the moment they are switched on. The handheld monitor comes pre-charged for installation and testing purposes only. It needs to be fully charged before it can be used continuously. The baby camera must always be connected to the mains via the micro USB cable (included in delivery) in order for it to work. The viewable screen is actually 1-7/8 inches wide, small yes but useful as you only need to focus on your baby in his or her crib (not the whole room but their setup/environment). The monitor is in color. and night vision, and while the resolution isn't HD, it's clear enough to keep an eye on baby day and night. This is especially helpful if you live in a split level house and the sound of your voice is enough to soothe your baby and put him back to sleep. I recommend this monitor because it's simple. Lots of moms and dads are already very busy, especially when you have a newborn and you just need something reliable and simple. My husband is very tech-savvy and usually sets everything up electronically himself. I, a heavily pregnant woman I did not know that it is a nesting stage and should be ready at any time to arrange it myself. rk out of the box and as I said, I don't need to connect to wifi so I have peace of mind that the camera won't connect. I took off a star because the product name says "wireless baby camera" but the only wireless device in this set is the baby monitor. The camera must remain connected to the network. It comes with 1 adapter and 2 micro USB cables, the longest of which is 1.50m. Depending on where you place the camera, you may or may not need to replace the cable with a longer one.
